To the first-time demonstrators

Here are some tips, if this is your first street demonstration:

Keep your personal effects to bear minimum
If you are planning to carry a placard, banner, or any sign to convey your message, it helps to keep your personal effects, i.e. your bag, down to bear minimum and compact. Even if you are not planning to carry a sign, it still helps to keep your bag compact so that it doesn't get in other participants' way.
What should I wear?
Remember, you will be outdoors for several hours, and the peace walk takes about an hour. Keep sufficiently warm and wear comfortable shoes.
Who should I walk with?
The event is open to everyone. You can join the march at any point in time and place, and you can be anywhere in the procession. In fact, we will be inviting onlookers on the street to join the parade. You may walk with an organization that appeals to you the most. Of course, it would be great if you can walk with Greenpeace.
Please follow the instructions of the staff
Once you decide where you want to be in the march, please standby patiently until the parade starts. The organizing committee will instruct us on various matters. Follow the instructions for your safety.
Watch out for cars!
You will be walking on a vehicle lane in the street; not on the sidewalk. Please follow the instruction of the police and security personnel. And watch out for cars.
Is it all right to have fun?
Yes, because it's supposed to be a peaceful and positive parade, but don't forget you are protesting against an imminent military attack on Iraq. Be discreet.
